update.

I was on semi-hiatus for awhile, then last week I went on hiatus for real because my laptop was broken. And now it’s almost finals, so I just won’t be on at all.

But I’m finally listening to K-OTIC’s Blacklist album, and I really really like it so far!

I think I’m going to either revamp or kill this blog over winter break. I don’t really have time to maintain it properly in its current format, and I’d like the blog to be more useful and informative. I may instead focus on Thai stuff, because it’s really the massive amount of kpop that I listen to that takes up so much time! Haha.

And as I get more familiar with Thai music (… as in expanding beyond Thai pop XP), I love it more and more.

Back to lakorns…

I took a break from watching lakorns for awhile, but since it’s Thanksgiving break and I’ve got some free time (though I really should be studying still…) I decided to FINALLY finish Muay Inter, and maybe start some new stuff, too.

I have to say, Muay Inter IS ONE OF THE MOST ADORABLE LAKORNS I’VE EVER SEEN! I haven’t seen that many, but… IT’S SUPER CUTE! IT’S SO CUTE, I CAN’T STAND IT! Basically, I loved it.

Pretty much my only complaint was that Note got a little annoying towards the end, because I was like, WTF! Why can’t he do anything himself?!?! Why the hell does he have to have Nadia do EVERY DAMN LITTLE THING FOR HIM!? Stop being a damn baby! And why does he all of a sudden love Pancake, anyway??? Stupid…

But it all turned out happily in the end, and I was very happy with the ending Oh Stefan and Pancake make such a cute couple… Pancake is just so adorable! This is one of the few lakorns I’d want to have on DVD so I could rewatch it a billion times.

I’m really glad I ended up watching Muay Inter, because I didn’t mean to watch it at all… I’d heard that Stefan wasn’t a very good actor, and I dunno.. the premise wasn’t very compelling. But it turned out to be REALLY GOOD, so I’m really glad I watched it!

Now I’ve watched part of the first episode of Jai Rao, and I like it, but I’d like to wait until AFTER finals to really get into it and all obsessed with it and whatnot. I’d also like to wait until after finals to watch Sanae Nang Ngiew.

But right now, I’m currently watching Gaew Lom Phet. I hate the rich daughter/poor daughter switched at birth stuff, but for some reason I’m watching it again. Well, actually I know the reason… it’s the pra nangs! Wiew, the nang ek, is SOOOO CUTE! She is just really adorable. Son, the pra ek, is pretty… so pretty it’s kinda creepy sometimes, but.. he’s pretty and he’s an engineer at Chula! So that’s just like.. a bajillion bonus points! They’re pretty much the only characters I care for in this lakorn. But I like them a lot! And they are my only reason for watching. THEIR CUTE SCENES ARE SO CUTE! It took them 2.5 episodes to meet, but their meeting was super adorable… it was so worth the wait!

Gaew Lom Phet reminds me of Pom Ruk Roy Adeed, because I loved that lakorn, and it’s still pretty fresh in my mind. But Gaew Lom Phet is kind of like… Pom Ruk Roy Adeed to the billionth power. It is so much more nam nao… so much more dramatic and bitchy and scandalous! But when it’s cute it’s also much more cute. So as much as I loved and hated Pom Ruk Roy Adeed, I’m probably gonna love and hate this so much more!

I just wanted to make a list of future lakorns that I wanna watch! So I don’t forget about ‘em!

I still need to finish Muay Inter, Ruk Sorn Kaen, and Kom Faek, though. And don’t forget Gong Jak Lai Dok Bua! And Koo Puan Olawon and Sanae Nang Ngiew!! WAHHHHHHHHH

But anyway, these are the upcoming lakorns I wanna watch.

Jai Rao: Ken/Aff – It’s starting on Nov 12! Yay! I’m really excited pretty much because I got to see Ken film a scene at the airport when I was leaving Thailand to come back here!

Meu Nang: Tengneung/Kwan – I’m not a Kwan fan anymore… but she did do my beloved Pom Ruk Roy Adeed. Either way, I’ll definitely watch this for Tengneung anyway!!! Sounds like a freakin’ creepy lakorn though… eh.

Sao 5: About a billion people… but most importantly, Pai! Oh what a cute boy.. – I dunno what this lakorn will be about, but I think it’s gonna be action. I like action lakorns! YAYYYYYY

i’m such a ch7 girl… even though a lot of their lakorns are so trashy and stupid! I LOVE IT HEHE

School started :(

Today…

I’m kind of excited? Kind of not?

So I won’t be able to post too much now. I have a super busy schedule this quarter.

Black Vanilla released a new album a couple of days ago, though! They’re like my new obsession. I’m really excited to hear it. It’s called R2G.

MY BABY! :’(

So in this blog I’m pretty much all about Thai pop and Korean pop. But, believe it or not, there are other things that I love more than Ice or Suju. I try to keep those things separate from my fangirly side. XP

But right now I’m really… iono. And sad. And iono. And I’m probably going to write a really long ranty post like the Suju one I just wrote, where I think way too much. I was in Thailand, right, so I was away from all kinds of news. So this isn’t really new news. It happened a couple of weeks ago, actually.

But today I was watching a rerun of my all-time most favorite tv show ever in the history of the universe, Stargate: Atlantis. And yes, it is a kind of geeky sci-fi show. But I love love love this show. I love that it’s sci-fi but not Star Trek level sci-fi. I love that it can be exciting but it never takes itself too seriously. The Stargate franchise in general is just a lot of fun, and that’s what I love most about it. SG-1 is good… and, you know, probably better than SGA. But SGA’s my baby! It’s just… I dunno. The atmosphere, the characters, the whole feel of it, suit me better than SG-1’s does.

But yeah… basically I was watching it today, and my brother then said that he read in the newspaper that SGA was canceled. And my first thought was, “NO! HE MUST BE MISTAKEN! NO NO NO NO NO!” so I ran to look it up, and, sure enough, it was canceled a few weeks ago. This season, the 5th season, will be the last, and the 100th episode will be SGA’s series finale. And now I’m just really really heartbroken. I was expecting another season. I thought SGA had another season left in her! So I’m kind of surprised. I don’t know what prompted this decision, either. I know Sci-Fi channel does stupid shit sometimes, but… I dunno. I feel like it’s so random and abrupt! Did the ratings go down substantially? I don’t know because I wasn’t around for the last few episodes. But I saw the ratings for the last episode, and they seem pretty fair.

But I suspect that SGA was canceled to make room for Stargate’s newest show, Stargate: Universe, which is supposed to premiere next year. That makes me really sad, that there isn’t room for 2 Stargate shows. I guess they want to… rectify whatever mistakes they made with SGA (and yeah, they made a few) by starting over anew with SGU. And give SGA’s money to SGU. -_- SGU’s premise does sound really interesting, but it’s not SGA. I don’t know what I’ll do without it :’(

All I can think is… MY POOR BABY! :’(

Edit: I just read that SGU is “targeted towards a younger audience”. THEY WANT TO MAKE IT INTO A SPACE SOAP! Fuck that… if I wanted space soap I’d watch BSG. But I don’t watch BSG. I watch Stargate, which is about FUN, and not about SOAP. Fuck Sci-Fi channel, seriously, for doing this to my SGA.

I miss Suju :(

I was just rewatching that special stage that SJ-H did with SHINee, and it hit me that I really miss Suju. I’ve just been kind of really caught up in the SHINee love, and there also hasn’t been very much Suju stuff going on. Just SJ-M off in China, and SJ-H doing their thing. And this kind of comes on the heels of my finding out that SJ-M is supposed to release a new album in early 2009. This means several things.

1. Suju’s reunification would be delayed, because obviously SJ-M will need time to make their album and promote it. I was hoping their 3rd album would come out in early 2009, but that obviously wouldn’t happen now.

2. Suju’s 3rd album would come out mid 2009, which would probably mean no Korean Music Festival (</3), because they would be busy either making their album or promoting it.

3. Suju’s 3rd album would come out late 2009, which would mean even more time spent split up, and, if any Suju people came to the Korean Music Festival, it’d be a subgroup (which would be better than nothing, really), because SJ-M, because would probably be doing album stuff at that time. I don’t know if they would send SJ-H, though, because it’s pretty much SJ-T. -_-

But this mostly means that my Kyuhyun won’t come to LA to see me next year! :’( But, you know, SJ-M coming would be kinda fun, because I definitely wanna see Henry in action! But SJ-M is not SJ, and I REALLY MISS SEEING ALL OF THEM TOGETHER! I’ve kind of got a one-track mind about the Korean Music Festival, because it’s my best chance to see Suju in concert, so I want them ALL!

All this talk of SJ-M’s second album really makes me kind of resent them. Not them the members, though I do wonder if this would make Only13 people dislike Zhou Mi and Henry even more. I haven’t been on Soompi in a long time, so I really don’t know. Though I think blaming them is not fair at all, because it is certainly not their decision to do a 2nd album for SJ-M. And I highly doubt they had much of a choice to join SJ-M in the first place. And even if they did have a say in the matter, I really doubt they did it because they were thinking “Ooh, I really want to help split up Suju, so I think I’ll join SJ-M!” Um.. no. They just wanted to be successful and have their dreams come true too, just like all the SJ members.

But I’m starting to resent the whole concept of SJ-M. LSM’s business plan to conquer China is admittedly brilliant, but… SJ-M has caused SJ to be split up all the time. Almost half of the group is in some foreign country all the time! I know China’s a huge market, and they make good money over there, but… how long does this have to go on for? I thought it would be over after one album. It might be a long period of promoting this one album (…just see how long they’ve promoted U) but seriously, TWO ALBUMS? SJ-M has been in existence for only a few months! Somewhere around 5? I’ll round up and say that they will have been together for a few months less than a year when their 2nd album drops. Seriously!? It took SJ how many years to release 2 albums? And SJ-M is going to have 2 in less than a year. Granted, their first album was like half Suju songs, but still.

I feel like, to LSM, SJ-M is infinitely more important than SJ. Maybe SJ is even a burden to him. He’s gotta find useless crap for the rest of the members to do (ie. SJ-H) while SJ-M is doing their thing. If the rest of SJ is expendable, then I’m really worried.

I know LSM is making bank with SJ-M. I know he’s pretty damn greedy. So saying something like “Doesn’t he care about the fans? Doesn’t he care about SJ members?” would mean nothing, because we already know he doesn’t care about the fans, and, even though he may care about his mentees, I’m sure money trumps all. And this makes me really sad.

Being a Kpop fan is kind of depressing. It’s kind of hard to hate the record company but love the group. What have the performers themselves done but work really really hard? Even if the things their record company does are depressing or distasteful or heartless, even if they work their performers to the bone, what can you do? If you don’t support the performer, all their hard work has gone to waste. If you support the performer, you’re pretty much condoning the actions of their record company. :/

I’m depressed now. I think too much.

Random things

I watched more lakorns tonight. XP

I watched Ch 3’s Ruk Sorn Kaen, which started tonight. I was a bit confused because I missed a bit of it, but I figured out what was going on. I like it!! I like the characters. I think Pat and Paul are cute together! And the other couple too.. I think it’s Bon and err.. dunno the girl’s name. It’s the usual revenge stuff, but it’s good! Watch the teaser here!

During commercial breaks, I watched little bits and pieces of Kom Faek. I saw commercials of it during Pom a bunch of times, and I was like.. oh, that looks like an interesting lakorn! But I REALLY CAN’T WATCH THIS LAKORN. Not because it’s bad or whatever.. but because every time Cee comes onscreen all I can think is OMG CEE IS SO HOT! So I have no idea what’s going on in this lakorn except that Cee is really hot. XP

I keep hearing Aof’s song เหตุผลร้อยแปด on the radio! It is SUCH a cute song! Watch the MV! It’s cute too.

P.S. I can’t wait for Ice’s stuff to come out! XP

Channel surfing

Tonight I was channel surfing and watching bits and pieces of all the lakorns that were on. I don’t quite know yet which one(s) I want to keep watching… so I want to organize my thoughts.

Oh, and I started watching Gong Jak Lai Dok Bua again. I started it before but never got past the first episode, because originally I was going to watch it because of Ice. But Ice made me not want to watch it, because in the first episode he has this one scene where he’s angry and it’s just SO HILARIOUS. He’s terrible! So I was like.. I can’t watch this. But Aum has such a great body in this lakorn! So at the same time I got a new reason to watch. XP So I finally got back to it, and it’s pretty good! And Ice isn’t too bad when he’s not trying to be angry. I like it!

Gae Roy Ruk: I like this. Rome and Rita are always really cute! And I like that it’s a murder mystery! But the ghost stuff.. it’s a bit creepy. And Rita’s fro and clothes are funny. XP But in a good way! I think I want to keep watching this lakorn.

Supab Burut Satan: I’m really not sure if I want to keep watching this. I think Aof and Pinky are good together. But it seems like… blah. Just another ch 7 lakorn, nothing that great. The acting is not great, and the story isn’t really anything new. And I think the doctor’s house is the same as Nokyoong’s house! FOSHO! The doctor and whoever that girl is (don’t know who she is because I haven’t watched a whole ep yet XP) are pretty cute too. Well, actually, no, the girl is really cute, and the doctor is cute but seems really stupid.

Ubat Ruk Kaam Kob Fah: Um, okay, this lakorn might actually be watchable if not for two people: Peak and Mike. But it’s not like Mike can be replaced, seeing as this is G-M’s lakorn. But why does the plotline have to involve Japan?? Really?? It’s not as if G-M are Japanese. I know they really want to be, but they aren’t, and there’s no need for the plot to involve Mike being half Japanese AND NOT KNOWING HOW TO SPEAK THAI! His character seems really stupid. He really doesn’t know how to play it right… he should just be a guy who struggles with understanding Thai, but he actually comes off as really dumb. Peak is just.. NOT CUTE. OMG! Her hair in this lakorn is TERRIBLE. And so are her eyebrows. And I could say things about how I really don’t like her face, but I won’t because that’s not easily changed. I could deal with the face if the hair and the eyebrows were better! But they’re not, so when I see her I just want to scream (or change the channel). Golf and Toey are fine, though. They’re both pretty good, and they’re each cute. Except I think Toey looks way too young, but it’s okay… still WAY WAY WAY better than Peak.

Being on Thai time…

For reals! So I’ve been in Thailand for almost a week now… and I haven’t really done anything so far. But I’ve counted that so far I’ve been to Seacon Square twice, Seri Center twice, Fashion Island once, and Siam Square once. Those are all malls. XP

Today I got loads of Suju stuff! I got Don’t Don repackaged, and SJ-M’s Me, which came with a bag, and I bought a Suju poster, and A FAN WITH KIBUM’S FACE ON IT! for my friend who loves Kibum. I thought it was the most hilarious thing ever. Well, the cell phone charms with people’s face on them were pretty hilarious, too. I was tempted to buy Kyuhyun’s, but I thought it was maybe a bit much.

I also got SHINee’s cd! And Peck Aof Ice’s karaoke VCD. I also have B.O.Y’s album.

I wanted to buy Tor+’s concert VCD, but they only had the DVD, and I won’t be able to play that. I was tempted to buy Attack on the Pinup Boys. XP I so far can’t find Ice’s VCDs, except for Kool Hits. And I don’t want that. So er.. whats left to buy?

I’m so behind on my Suju/ SHINee news! Haven’t watched ep 2 of SHINee’s show yet. SJ-H’s Pajama Party MV is like an acid trip of ridiculous clothes and hair, isn’t it??

Oh and Pom ending FREAKIN’ SUCKED! I MEAN HOW MUCH MORE CHASTE CAN YOU GET!??! THERE WAS MORE ACTION WHEN THEY STILL HATED EACH OTHER! And for some reason when everyone was all nice and wonderful it just got incredibly boring. What lakorn to watch next? XP

Lots of random little things to update on, so… maybe I’ll do it in list form? XP

1. POM RUK ROY ADEED ENDS NEXT WEEK! *flails* I wanted it to end so badly at the beginning, because I wanted all the evil people to get their just desserts, but… Kwan’s starting to annoy me with her “I GOTTA LISTEN TO EVERYTHING MY MOM SAYS EVEN THOUGH SHE’S A FRIGID BIATCH” policy. I like Poo much better when she’s nice. And Nokyoong’s waaaaaaaaaaay smarter than Torfun, so… maybe she does deserve Nae Tae! I love him for being so sensible and kind… not like silly Win, causing lots of problems with his incestuous love. XP I DON’T KNOW WHAT I’LL DO WITH MYSELF WITHOUT MY POM TO WATCH!!!! (G-M’s lakorn, maybe?)

2. ONEW HURT HIS ANKLE/LEG/SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!! WAHHHHHHHHH not sure on the details, but.. PLEASE FEEL BETTER, LEADER!

2A? As a sidenote, SHINee’s show was… interesting. I felt kind of dirty just watching it. I mean, how old was that noona?? She looked pretty old to me. Minho was *flails* SO CHARMING! I’ve liked Minho for awhile, because he’s tall, skinny, a little bit awkward (love awkward boys! XP), and has a really deep voice. Taemin was also adorable! Seriously, I know he’s 15, but he really acts like he’s 10 sometimes. XD JONGHYUN’S DATE WAS SOOOOOOOOO AWKWARD!!! AND FAIL! Hehe adorable and unexpected.

2B? SHINee has performed Real again since the last time I updated. I love it!! Check it out! I love this performance.. they seem more energetic than usual! I can’t tell if it’s live or not… I think Replay Boom Track might have been lipsynced? No idea.. they’re just so good live, it’s hard to tell!

3. Super Junior Happy’s 2nd single will be Pajama Party! Err.. not gonna lie, there are songs on that album that I like better than Pajama Party, but… there are no songs I dislike, so I’d be okay with anything! They’re supposed to perform it for the first time on the 3rd, and MV out on the 4th. As a sidenote, I really hope Teukie doesn’t have to keep that AWFUL hair he’s had lately.

4. Kinda late, but I figure if I put SJ-H’s single, better put SJ-M’s, right? SJ-M’s 2nd MV will be for Me, and it’s coming out… I have no idea when. XP Err.. actually, I’m not even sure if this is confirmed. But I’m pretty sure it’s Me? XP

5. Mor Oak’s new album, Mr. Smith, came out when B.O.Y’s album came out, but er.. I neglected to mention it because… I’M FAIL, BASICALLY. I’m downloading it as I type, so I’ll give it a listen later, and maybe I’ll review it and B.O.Y’s!

6. Ice is in LA now! Fobby tourist status for him today maybe? Resting up for tomorrow? I CAN’T WAIT!

7. Congrats to ToR+ for winning Favorite Thai Artist at the MTV Asia Awards! I voted for him as much as I voted for Suju (which was several times a day for a few weeks XP… so not ELF status!), so I’m really glad he won! If you don’t know ToR+, LISTEN TO HIM NOW. He is one of the most talented Thai artists right now. Check out Ruk Ter, which is one of my most most most favorite songs, period! IT’S SO ADORABLE! Sorry, K-OTIC, I like you too, but I like ToR+ more. XD

8. And I saved the best for last: congrats to my beloved Suju for winning Favorite Korean Artist at the MTV Asia Awards! And they should really thank me for voting for them by COMING TO THE KOREAN MUSIC FESTIVAL NEXT YEAR! (and bringing SHINee with them *wink wink*).

9. Err, well, I guess Suju’s not really last, BUT THEY ARE STILL THE BEST! AF5’s finale was today! Results after the jump, because I don’t wanna spoil it for anyone.
