Bodyslam in the US!

March 29, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Bodyslam will be having a US tour! More info to come, but for now, here are some dates:

San Francisco: Sunday May 3rd 2009, Glaskat Nightclub
Los Angeles: Wednesday May 6th 2009, Element Nightclub
Chicago: Saturday May 9th 2009, The Olympic Theatre
Washington, DC: Sunday May 10th 2009, The Salsa Room

If you’re unfamiliar with Bodyslam, they are, in my opinion, one of Thailand’s best rock bands!

I would love to see them in LA, but it’s so close to KMF! Don’t know if I’ll have the money :(

Ice at Pattaya International Music Festival!

March 25, 2009 · Leave a Comment

Man… I really want to go to this thing some year! 3 days of my favorite Thai music and some of my other favorite artists thrown in as well! There were lots and lots of Thai artists there besides Ice… I’ll add some links of them later. And also two of my favorite Korean groups, SHINee and SNSD! But for now just some clips of Ice! He sang Kon Jai Ngai of course, in Thai, Japanese, English, and Korean. He also sang Yah Len Tua and Kon Nah Song Saan. I don’t think it was his best performance… he looked and sounded really really tired. I imagine he would be, considering his big concert is this coming weekend! He must be exhausted from preparing for that. But he puts on a good show as always :)

Part 2: Kon Nah Song Saan

Techin – Kum Thob Kong Hua Jai

March 13, 2009 · Leave a Comment

I already did all my squeeing and flailing and octopus dancing over Suju’s comeback at around 4 AM today, so I’ll probably post about them later… for now, though…

Techin is this singer who came out under GMM Grammy a few months ago, and at first I was like… who is this guy and where did he come from? And then I found out, but I didn’t care for his first single, so now I’ve forgotten again who he is… so all I know is he’s a GMM Grammy singer. He’s not bad looking, and his singing’s not bad. He’s just alright in all aspects.

His first single was Ruk Dai Khon Diew / รักได้คนเดียว (I can only love one person). You can watch the MV HERE. Honestly this song is just blah… it’s a bit like him… average.

So I just forgot about him until I heard his latest single, which is Kum Thob Kong Hua Jai / คำตอบของหัวใจ (The answer to my heart). I love this song! It’s so adorable. The first time I heard it I didn’t know who sang it, and I desperately searched to find out who it was. The song is just adorable and sweet and he sounds pretty good singing it. It’s about finding out that your true love was right in front of you the whole time. So cute! :)

The MV is here:

4 Romance(s)

December 20, 2008 · Leave a Comment

4 Romances is a film opening on December 25th. I’m actually not entirely sure if the english name of the movie is 4 Romance or 4 Romances. But in Thai, it’s called ฝัน-หวาน-อาย-จูบ (Fan/Dream – Waan/Sweet – Ay/Shy – Joob/Kiss), for each short movie. The premise of it is that it’s 4 short films (like the horror movie 4 Prang), each by a different  director, each with a different take on love. Of course, it sounds super cute, and I can’t wait to watch it.

Some of the people I’m familiar with who are in 4 Romances are:

August band, which means adorable Pchy!!! (Dream) and Mario Maurer (Kiss) who are all from Love of Siam, of course.

Chakrit Yamnarm (Sweet) who is from lots of stuff, but most recently, Bangkok Dangerous.

Kanya Rattanapetch (Shy) who is also from Love of Siam and is totally adorable in Ruk Rhythm with Tik!

Chukiat Sakveerakul, who directed Love of Siam, is directing Dream.

Prachya Pinkaew, who directed Ong Bak and Tom Yum Goong (not to mention lots of other stuff) is directing Sweet.

Watch the trailer!

~

The always amazing August band did the Ost. There are 3 songs, and they’re so, so lovely.

ดวงตะวัน (Duang Thawan/Sunshine) – Watch the MV HERE.

หลับตา (Lap Thaa/Close Your Eyes) – Watch the MV HERE.

And my personal favorite,  ฝัน-หวาน-อาย-จูบ (Dream – Sweet – Shy – Kiss), which is August band ft. Ploy Natcha.

I’m so looking forward to this movie!

Ice’s new MV!

November 27, 2008 · 1 Comment

Ice just released an MV for his latest single, Chop Khon Jao Choo. I’ve been anticipating this MV for awhile, since some teasers and whatnot came out awhile ago. This song is seriously one of my least favorite Ice songs… ever… and I’m sad he released it as a single when there are so many other good songs on the album. But it is what it is, so… yeah.

I don’t really get the MV… it seems like they spent a lot of money on special effects, but… I don’t really get the story. Is there a story? And what’s with the satellite shooting lasers? And um.. the magical laser-reflecting sunglasses? Err… anyway, Yardthip’s the nang ek for this MV. She’s pretty, and I like her, but.. she’s kinda useless. I don’t get why they make nang eks dance when they can’t! She might be a worse dancer than Peak…

Ice trying to look cool is cute! He isn’t hot… he’s just adorable! XDDD

Meh… not my favorite song, not my favorite MV, but.. whatever. It’s Ice! :D

Chin’s new MV

November 14, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Chin has a new MV out, and even though I dislike Chin quite a bit, there are times when I don’t competely hate him. This is sort of one of those times. This MV is for the song คืนที่หนึ่ง (Keun Tee Neung / The First Night), and the song isn’t too bad. I really like when he says “I want tonight to be the first night, not one night only”… I just realized it doesn’t sound as great in English. BUT IN THAI IT’S CUTE!

The MV is kinda cool sometimes (I like the smoke effects) but overall it’s just meh. It kind of reminds me of G-M’s latest, too. I dunno what’s with GMM Grammy MVs lately.

But the one thing I really dislike about this MV is Chin. I just.. ugh.. he makes all these faces that to me are just not attractive at all. He’s just trying way too hard to be cool. Meh. Ew. And I dunno, but just like it seems to me that Junho gets cuter everyday, it seems to me that Chin gets more douchey looking everyday.

But anyway, whatever. The song’s not too bad.

ToR+’s new MV + Aof’s not that new MV..

November 8, 2008 · Leave a Comment

ToR+ came out with a MV about a week ago… yeahh I’m really slow :( BUT YAYYYYY FOR NEW MV! As much as I love Munk?, I’m super happy for a new MV!! :D

This MV is for his song Mai Yark Roo (I’m too lazy for Thai script right now…) and it’s a super cute song, and the MV’s very chill and cute too. It’s just ToR+ playing lots of instruments, haha.. simple and cute.

Now, I just wanted to post Aof’s MV for Pit Tang Song Khon/Ter Mai Ruk. It’s been out for awhile, but I just watched it recently, when I found out that Ploy was the nang ek. I LOVE PLOY CHERMAN! She’s my favorite Thai actress. IT TOTALLY BROKE MY HEART WHEN PLOY AND DOME BROKE UP FOR THE BILLIONTH TIME.. *cries*

I really like this MV, except for the fact that I don’t really understand why they broke up. It’s typical Aof sadness. But whatever… I like the ending a lot. WATCH IT!

PIXEL

November 4, 2008 · Leave a Comment

So there’s this new RS band called PIXEL, and apparently they won some kind of contest or something, so that’s why they got to release an album with RS. RS is really surprising me lately with their rock bands! They’re actually pretty good! :)

This song, รู้ว่ามีอยู่ก็สายไป (Roo Wah Mee Yoo Gor Sai Pai) isn’t anything special, I don’t think… it’s just another song by a rock band. But it’s not bad! I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it.

But I REALLY REALLY like the MV. The story’s really good and really cute! And the boy is cute, and the girl is MEEN FROM SISKA! And though I haven’t written a post about Siska, I really like them. They’re actually one of the only girl groups/duos/whatever that I like. And Meen is my favorite! She’s so adorable. I think she’s lost weight since I last saw Siska. But she’s just super cute… I WANT SISKA! :’(

This MV is also really sad… *sigh* it fits the song really well.

I want there to be a sequel!!

Golf-Mike’s new MV

November 3, 2008 · 1 Comment

Golf-Mike has a new MV out for their latest single, ยิ่งรักยิ่งเจ็บ (Ying Ruk Ying Jeb / The More I Love, the More I Hurt). This song is on the soundtrack for Golf-Mike’s lakorn, which I’m really surprised is STILL not over. That thing is getting a little A LOT too long.

I’m not a big fan of Golf-Mike, though I do respect the fact that they’re REALLY popular (in Japan too!!), and sing decently, and dance REALLY well for Thai people. But I generally don’t like their music. But surprisingly, I REALLY REALLY LIKE THIS SONG! I think I’ve spent like the last half hour listening to only this song, over and over. Hahaha. Oh dear.

C-Quint’s new MV

October 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment

C-Quint has a new MV. I saw it while I was watching Music Battle today. I didn’t really pay too much attention to it… I just noticed a few things: they’re going for a ‘cute and adorable’ look for this MV, the song isn’t too terrible, their singing seems to have improved, and why the heck are they so popular?! I will never understand it… but their singing HAS improved! So yay :)

The song is called รักแล้วรักอีก (Ruk Laew Ruk Eek / Love and Love Again)
